Sami Simon’s ‘Carry You With Me’ | It’s About Making Cuts In Your Life

Berlin-based singer-songwriter Sami Simon, returns with soulful new single ‘Carry You With Me’, an indie-folk gem hued by a soft touch of electronic vibes.

Hi Sami Simon, how are you today?

I am good, thanks!

What’s your new single ‘Carry You With Me’ all about?

It’s about making cuts in your life, which sometimes is necessary, and about what to save, what to leave behind, and where to go.

What’s the music scene like in Berlin at the moment? Any new artists you’d recommend?

Plenty of great aspiring artists in Berlin! I personally am really looking forward to the next album of Still Parade!\

You’ve been compared to the likes of Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes – are they influences of yours?

Yes, especially Bon Iver had a great impact on me. I keep coming back to ‘For Emma Forever Ago’ and the ‘Blood Bank’ EP.

If you could collaborate with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

As I mentioned above I am a huge fan of Still Parade. And I’d like to work with Niklas Kramer on some tunes.

What are your plans for the rest of 2018?

There will be new songs.

Any live dates coming up?

Not at the moment. I am currently not in the best state of my health.

Carry You With Me is out now.
