FM favourites The Frisbys – Twins Helen (vocals, flute) and Nicola Frisby (vocals, acoustic guitar) – have just released their stunning second EP ‘The Cause’ via Dantobaccus Records, so we thought we’d write a few words about how bloody brilliant it is.
Opening with double A-side singles ‘Give In To The Dark / Born & Raised’, both tracks immediately introduce us to the EP; the opening track expressing sincere emotion and vulnerability and the latter sharing the band’s more upbeat and playful side wonderfully.
‘Lines’ falls back into The Frisbys’ more melancholic side whereas the next track ‘Lowering The Grace’ feels slightly more prominent and powerful – pay particular attention to guitarist Sam Keer’s incredible sliding guitar skills in this one.
Next up is Marc Robinson’s piano-lead beauty that is ‘Waves’. As with every track on the EP, twin sisters Helen and Nicola Frisbys’ harmonies are perfectly on point throughout. You’ll struggle to keep the tears away for this one.
And finally, the EP ends with probably the most readily available track; ‘The Cause’. This track closes the EP perfectly, filled with power and soaring vocals from start to finish. All in all, a must listen by all accounts and the perfect winter warmer for these dreary days we’re having…eugh.
‘The Cause’ is out now via Dantobaccus Records.
