Leon of Athens is no stranger to FAME magazine; having already stopped by to chat with us about his single ‘Global’, we then wrote a few kind words about the track as well. So, it only seems right that the Greek born singer-songwriter is our ‘Artist of The Week’ this week.

Check out the space age video for the single, created by by fashion filmmaker Marie Schuller.

Leon of Athens, aka Timoleon Veremis, is currently based in London although he returns regularly to his hometown of Greece where he sources a lot of his inspiration for his music.

Leon writes songs people can relate to; about the young generation dealing with the current climate and the ever-changing issues that come with it on a daily basis.

His latest single ‘Baby Asteroid’ creates an immediately upbeat indie/electro-pop sound courtesy of its distinctive analogue synths and the fast-paced drum beat rolling throughout.

Fans of the likes of early MGMT or M83 are in for a real treat her. ‘Baby Asteroid’ is about the idea of a weightless world, where no one is ever alone. Quite a lovely thought really.

‘Baby Asteroid’ is out on October 16th via Mimosa’s Dream Records.
