Prince’s archive reopens with With This Tear. A 1991 Paisley Park recording lands as the entry point to a wider vault release cycle.
Ahead of the 10-year anniversary of Prince’s passing, NPG Records and Legacy Recordings release the previously unreleased track, newly mixed and mastered by Chris James.
Written, produced, and performed entirely by Prince, the cut reintroduces a self-contained studio blueprint from his early ’90s era. Originally offered to Céline Dion in 1992, it now returns as a primary-source recording.
The release ties into anniversary events at Paisley Park and builds into Prince Celebration 2026 (June 3–7, Minneapolis).
Campaign flow: vault unlock → anniversary → global event.
