DADDY DRWG, also known as “Droog” (a Welsh term for ‘Bad Daddy’), is a self-made musician from Wales, UK, with a rich history in music, including global tours and various collaborations. He studied Music Technology at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. His album A Tree Called Happy marks his solo debut, where he impressively takes on both the instrumental performances and production roles, showcasing his distinct creativity and emotional depth through his music.

A Tree Called Happy, led by the introductory single I’m Your Waste Of Time, provides a sneak peek into the album’s ten songs, which draw from genuine events and experiences.

I’m Your Waste Of Time stands out as a sinister song from the viewpoint of a stalker, a narrative inspired by DADDY DRWG’s personal encounter with a stalker for two years until the stalker was apprehended. This song encapsulates the eerie and invasive aspects of stalking, brought to life with intense basslines, jarring riffs, and ominous vocals, portraying the twisted mindset of a stalker.

Songs like I’m Your Waste Of Time, Domino, and Object delve into themes of dark humor, addressing topics such as unhealthy obsession, ghosting, gaslighting, and predator-and-prey dynamics.

Meanwhile, tracks like Eyes Wide Shut, Previously Known As The Fool, and Lean On Me pivot towards themes of kindness, empathy, hope, and forgiveness.

DADDY DRWG comments on his album, highlighting its genuineness and its reflective journey: “For me, it’s an album of authenticity, about learning from the past living in the present whilst looking forward to the future. I think everyone would like to be able to sit under A Tree Called Happy.”
