Isle of Wight project ugly ozo advances its dive EP rollout with jackpot, the third release ahead of the May 1 drop via REX RECS.

Built inside REX Studio, the track leans into a stripped indie-pop system. Bass-forward low end, dry, punchy drums, and a vocal chain kept close and unpolished.

Rather than layering, the arrangement builds tension through space and timing, with each element carrying clear weight in the mix.

Jessica Baker’s vocal leads from the front, while Boo Baker (bass) and Tristan Northard (drums) lock into a tight, reactive groove.

The result is controlled energy. Clean hooks, sharp transitions, no excess.

Written and recorded in the same space, jackpot holds a live-response feel, captured in motion rather than shaped in post.

That approach extends across the wider dive EP, positioning ugly ozo within a system built on immediacy and direct room-to-record translation.
