Sound Waves is moving its Christmas edition from Porto to Lisbon for the first time, bringing Azyr, Fatima Hajji, Prada 2000, Zapravka, Blnk b2b Titi, Bøęry and Ornella to Pavilhão Carlos Lopes on Saturday December 19.
Running from 20:00 to 06:00, XMAS Edition XL expands a winter event that began at Porto’s Hard Club in 2023.
The programme spans different currents of hard techno. British DJ Azyr, closely associated with Teletech, joins Fatima Hajji, whose recent releases include a remix of Atlantis. Russian duo Zapravka bring a live show to a bill otherwise centred on DJ sets.
Portuguese artist Ornella, associated with 44 Label Group, represents the home scene with schranz and forceful mixing. Prada 2000 adds hard trance, bounce and hard house, while Bøęry brings bochka and Blnk b2b Titi take an industrial direction.
The Lisbon date follows Sound Waves’ July 11 summer edition in Esmoriz, which organisers describe as the festival’s largest to date, attracting attendees from more than 35 countries. Moving the Christmas event to the capital extends that expansion into its winter programme.
Tickets for Sound Waves XMAS Edition XL are available now.
