Sasha Keable’s new single options began with a melody already taking shape and a first instinct that became the song’s subject.
Written with Eddie Lopes, the British-Colombian singer-songwriter pairs smooth R&B with a playful account of post-breakup desire, delivered with clear-eyed confidence.
When I walked into the studio Eddie had already been working on the melody. I started singing back to him the first thing that came into my head: ‘breakup sex’ – and that became the lyric, I was like, right, that’s what we’re talking about.
That spontaneous exchange gives options its directness. Keable knows what she wants, even when the relationship itself has ended. The accompanying video, shot in Colombia, connects the release to her heritage through romantic, vibrant imagery.
options follows ACT II, the expanded, 12-track continuation of her EP act right. Five additional songs extended its exploration of love, heartbreak and self-preservation, from the stripped-back, vocal-led Ceiling Fan to the emotional vulnerability of Nobody and restrained production of Heal Something.

The single also arrives after the release of Keable’s Tiny Desk performance and a busy run of live appearances. Alongside touring with Giveon in the US and Europe, she has performed at Roots Picnic in London and Philadelphia and supported Olivia Dean in Dublin on The Art Of Loving tour. This year has also brought two MOBO nominations, her first BRIT nomination and a reported global streaming total exceeding 200 million.
Keable is next scheduled to perform on SNL UK on 10 October, taking her latest chapter from an instinctive studio exchange to a live television audience.
