British-Canadian singer, songwriter and producer Rochelle Jordan has released Disc 1, the opening chapter in a five-EP series that reimagines music from her acclaimed album Through The Wall.

Released via EMPIRE, Disc 1 hands Jordan’s source material to Honey Dijon, Ron Trent, Halogenix and KLSH. A lineup spanning house, techno, drum and bass and future-facing R&B production.

The result expands the album beyond its original pop and alternative R&B framework, translating Jordan’s vocal performances into new rhythmic environments designed for clubs, soundsystems and late-night listening. Jordan says:

I’m very excited to highlight all these magnificent artists and truly thankful that they brought these songs to life in these different forms of sound. Let the magic continue!

Honey Dijon’s remix of Ladida demonstrates the central idea behind the series: preserve the emotional identity of Jordan’s performance while reconstructing the production around it. Dijon explains:

Rochelle has one of those voices that carries so much emotion and intention, so I wanted to build a remix that honoured that while giving it a new life on the dancefloor. For me, it’s always about creating a moment of connection—something that feels soulful, powerful and liberating. Ladida already had that spirit; I just wanted to amplify it through my own musical language.

That approach treats the vocal as more than a sample or topline. Jordan’s delivery remains the emotional anchor, while the surrounding arrangement, groove and energy are reshaped for a different listening environment.

Across Disc 1, each producer brings a distinct relationship with rhythm. Dijon’s club-focused musicality, Trent’s deep house foundations, Halogenix’s detailed drum and bass production and KLSH’s long-established creative connection with Jordan give the project a wide sonic range without disconnecting it from the original album.

Executive-produced by KLSH, Through The Wall was constructed at the intersection of ’90s R&B, electronic pop, UK garage, house, funk and drum and bass.

Its production team included DāM-FunK, Terry Hunter, Byron the Aquarius, Initial Talk and KAYTRANADA. Rather than treating electronic music as decoration, the album placed club-derived rhythm and sound design at the centre of Jordan’s songwriting.

The forthcoming remix discs push that concept further. By allowing producers from different scenes to rebuild the material, Jordan is effectively turning Through The Wall into a flexible body of work—one capable of moving between headphones, radio, festival stages and underground dancefloors.

The campaign will continue throughout 2026, with a new song arriving approximately every two weeks and a complete disc scheduled each month until December.

Born in London and raised in Toronto by British-Jamaican parents, Jordan developed her musical language from a broad mix of influences.

Her drummer father introduced her to Northern soul, reggae, rhythm and blues and gospel. Her older brother’s record collection opened another door through UK house, garage and nocturnal drum and bass.

Those references continue to define Jordan’s production identity. Her music combines the vocal control and emotional detail of classic R&B with the pressure, movement and spatial depth of electronic club music.

With more than 500 million global streams, Jordan has built an international audience by refusing to remain inside a single genre. Disc 1 reinforces that position: this is not simply a collection of bonus remixes, but the beginning of a structured five-part expansion of the Through The Wall universe.
