Ahdritz Capital Partners will target music and media infrastructure, fandom and audience platforms, with a team based in New York and Stockholm.
Kobalt founder Willard Ahdritz has launched Ahdritz Capital Partners (ACP), an investment firm focused on music and media technology. Announced on 1 October, the firm brings together Ahdritz, along with investment partners Stephen Langer and Isabel Keulen.
ACP will back founders developing media infrastructure and systems, alongside platforms centred on fandom and audiences. Its approach includes operational support for international companies entering the United States and other key markets.
Ahdritz said:
Music is global, yet the capital and networks founders need have been concentrated in a few cities. We want to support founders and innovation but not only in those markets, but also in other parts of the world too.
Ahdritz founded Kobalt in 2000, serving as CEO and later chairman, and co-founded digital collection society AMRA. According to the announcement, he stepped down from Kobalt after Primary Wave acquired it in July 2026.
Stockholm-based Keulen previously led SSE Ventures and SSE Business Lab at the Stockholm School of Economics, following an investment role at Spintop Ventures. Langer joined ACP in May after working in Lazard’s Media, Entertainment & Sports group, where he helped develop its music mergers and acquisitions practice.
For portfolio companies, ACP says its New York presence will provide introductions to US operators and advisers, alongside help with strategic choices and establishing local operations.
The launch announcement does not disclose a fund size, investment amounts or portfolio companies. The next measure of ACP’s approach will be which businesses it backs, and how its operating experience helps them reach new markets.
