In a male-dominated industry where women and non-binary individuals often face barriers to entry and systemic biases, the Girls To The Front VA Compilation serves to address this issue

What inspired House Music With Love to curate the Girls To The Front VA Compilation in celebration of International Women’s Day?

House Music With Love (HMWL) was driven by the need to address the stark gender disparity prevalent in the electronic music industry. According to recent statistics, still only a small fraction of electronic music producers identify as female or non-binary, highlighting a significant underrepresentation of women in this creative space. Drawing inspiration from the Riot Grrrl movement of the 1990s, which advocated for women’s empowerment in punk rock, HMWL saw an opportunity to channel that same spirit into the electronic music scene. By curating the Girls To The Front VA Compilation, we aimed to challenge industry norms and celebrate the diverse talents of female and non-binary producers on a global stage.
