GRAMMY-nominated artist DESTIN CONRAD opens his reggae chapter with NERVOUS, the first single from his upcoming reggae album, out now via ABOVE GROUND/EMPIRE.
Produced by longtime collaborator Louie Lastic, the track blends R&B smoothness with syncopated dancehall movement, giving DESTIN space to ride the riddim with slick vocals, playful delivery, and full summer confidence.
The Zev York-directed visual matches that energy with bold styling, sharp movement, and a loose collective rhythm that pulls viewers into DESTIN’s own world. DESTIN shares:
Flowing between R&B and jazz inspired me to keep being curious about how far I can expand my sound…‘NERVOUS’ carries that same off-the-cuff freedom, so it was an opportunity to really stand in and own that part of me. It feels good to honor my Jamaican roots and make something fun that completely challenges what people might expect.
Following the alt-jazz project wHIMSY! and the GRAMMY-nominated LOVE ON DIGITAL, NERVOUS pushes his genre-fluid run forward without overthinking the switch. R&B, jazz, reggae, dancehall. DESTIN is not picking a lane. He is building the road.
