Producer and songwriter Christof Jennings revisits his catalogue with ‘Taking Over’, a stripped-back soul track shaped by Motown-style restraint and slow-burning tension.
Created during an earlier label collaboration, Taking Over remained unreleased after creative differences halted the project.

Jennings later reclaimed the track independently as part of his forthcoming EP XLV, released via Smokingsforcoolpeople / TA Durham Records. The track is composed by Damian Jennings and Cornel Sorian and published by Smokingsforcoolpeople.

Jennings began his career as a vocalist touring across the UK before transitioning into production, later studying at ACM Birmingham and Tileyard Education London.
His development accelerated through the Sony Writing Camp, where two co-written songs later appeared in television placements including Love Island USA and Hollyoaks.
Taking Over follows earlier releases from The Damian Mixtape, including Ghostin and Excuse Me, which positioned Jennings as an emerging R&B-focused producer.
