Chase & Status will release their new album, Generic Everything, on 9 October 2026, confronting the growing pressure on artists to create predictable, algorithm-friendly work.
The announcement arrives alongside Gone Too Far, featuring Debbie. The track forms part of a 10-song project connecting drum and bass, rap, grime, rave and soundsystem culture through collaborations with J Hus, Little Simz, Skrillex, Giggs, D Double E, Blanco, IRAH and others. The duo explain
Generic Everything is about resisting the pressure to become the same as everyone else. In a world shaped by AI, algorithms and endless content, creativity is constantly being pushed towards what’s familiar, safe and predictable.
That concept is represented visually by a cube, symbolising how original ideas are compressed into familiar formats. Chase & Status describe every song, visual and live show from this era as an attempt to break out of it.
The album includes Carnage with Little Simz, Essa Ta Quente with Skrillex and Timber with Giggs. It follows Disgruntled, featuring J Hus and IRAH, alongside recent collaborations with Pozer, Blade Brown and Lancey Foux.
The duo have also extended their experimental approach into SECTION 63, a live concept that reworks the conventional DJ show around underground club culture.
Following their first UK number one with the Stormzy collaboration BACKBONE, a BRIT Award for British Producer of the Year and a sold-out arena tour, Generic Everything finds Chase & Status using their commercial momentum to question the systems increasingly shaping modern creativity.
