Manchester-based singer-songwriter Bec O’Malley releases his debut single Let You Go, introducing a new voice from one of the UK’s most iconic music cities.
Blending modern country, folk, and Americana with northern storytelling, O’Malley steps outside Manchester’s usual indie-guitar legacy and into a distinctly British take on narrative songwriting.
Produced by Mark Crew and Adam Argyle, whose credits include Bastille, Freya Ridings, James Arthur, James Bay, and Myles Smith, Let You Go arrives with strong early momentum, following online teasers that have drawn close to two and a half million views.
O’Malley first connected online in 2024 with a stripped-back Peak District cover of Dylan Gossett’s Coal. Born in Stockport, he developed his craft through local gigs, Irish bars, and sessions between Manchester and Liverpool.
His music grounds country’s narrative depth in North West realism, humour, and emotional honesty. Let You Go follows that line, opening like a love song before revealing the darker perspective of someone unable to let go.
Speaking on the release, O’Malley says:
‘Let You Go’ is my debut single! It’s a track shaped by years of writing, influences, and creative growth. The song began with a dark narrative in mind, the unsettling perspective of someone who refuses to let go. I’ve always believed music should be personal, so I hope listeners find their own meaning within the track too.

Before his first official release, O’Malley has already sold out Manchester’s Deaf Institute and landed festival slots and support tours across the UK and Ireland.
With Let You Go, he moves from behind-the-scenes development into a proper first chapter.
