Car launches are increasingly being reframed as cultural events, with live music, nightlife and artist partnerships replacing the conventional showroom reveal.

For CUPRA RAVAL: RECHARGED, automotive brand CUPRA took over a Shoreditch location for a one-night event headlined by electronic duo Chase & Status and surprise guest Lancey Foux.

More than 1,000 fans attended, according to the brand, as Chase & Status delivered an exclusive drum-and-bass set ahead of their Reading and Leeds headline appearances.

Lancey Foux later joined the duo onstage for a live performance of their collaboration, Homework, giving the launch a moment designed to extend beyond the vehicle itself.

Guests from music, fashion, entertainment, television and digital culture included Bash the Entertainer, Tallia Storm, Max & Harvey, Theo Campbell and Kadeem Ramsay.

The choice of Shoreditch formed part of the creative positioning.

CUPRA connected the East London neighbourhood’s relationship with music, fashion and independent culture to El Raval, the Barcelona district that gives the new electric vehicle its name.

At CUPRA, we create experiences to remember by bringing music, culture and people together in unexpected ways. That was the ambition with RAVAL: RECHARGED. Chase & Status, Lancey Foux and Shoreditch—the right way to launch a game-changing car. – Marcus Gossen, Managing Director of CUPRA UK

The event follows the Raval’s global debut in Manchester in April 2026, where Chase & Status headlined a launch linking performances across six European cities. CUPRA says the wider activation reached more than 30,000 people.

The company’s connection with music also includes CUPRA FM, a weekly series of free performances from electronic and underground artists hosted at its Manchester City Garage.

For FM PRO TECH, the key point is how brands are turning product launches into live cultural experiences.

Chase & Status shaped the event’s identity rather than providing background entertainment, while Lancey Foux connected it with rap, fashion and youth culture.

The real test for CUPRA will be sustaining that credibility through continued support for emerging artists and accessible live music.

RAVAL: RECHARGED shows where automotive marketing is heading: the car is the product, but music and community create the story.
