Dropping alongside the high-octane focus track Candy (complete with a choreography-heavy video), the release follows the group’s instantly sold-out UK headline run — and today they announce a brand-new UK tour, including London’s O2 Academy Islington on May 29th.
Meet XO: Emmy, Reanna, Shali, Summer and Zoe — five personalities, one tight unit, and a clear mission to put the UK back on the girlband map. Their debut EP fires out the manifesto loud and clear. Candy is all 00s-coded Timbaland bounce, playground-chant hooks, and the kind of choreo swagger that makes you hit replay before the chorus ends.
Fashionably Late tracks the chaos and glow of a night out — from the glam-up rush Rush Hour, to the chaotic interludes “Give a Girl Her Shoe!”, to the viral favourite Ponytail, to catching feelings on the dancefloor Lovesick. The EP plants its flag in XO’s ethos: unity, friendship, and loud-and-proud self-worth.
Real Friends — co-written with Charli XCX — levels up into a full-body empowerment anthem (its acoustic version proves the girls’ harmonies are no joke). Closing track Silly Boy was born in an Uber and written in response to catcalling — turning real-world frustration into pop-sharp defiance.
