Yodashe, a rising talent from Goldsmiths University, shines with her latest single, FAM, the second release from her upcoming self-produced debut album. With the legendary synthesizer EDP Wasp, FAM delves into themes of family, femininity, and existentialism, all within a vibrant pop framework.

Written and produced by Yodashe at Goldsmiths Music Studios in London, the title FAM, derived from Family, holds dual significance. It not only represents the joyous experience of creating music within a close-knit community but also phonetically alludes to the French word for “Woman” (“Femme”), hinting at the track’s core conceptual references.

Mixed by Mathew Keightley at Hackney Road Studios and mastered by Cicely Balston at AIR Studios, both in London, and supported by Help Musicians, FAM draws inspiration from French New Wave cinema, particularly the existential monologues and dynamic characters of films by Jean-Luc Godard.

In FAM, Yodashe seamlessly shifts between spoken word and pop-song format, offering a captivating blend of introspection and energy. Collaborating with fellow Goldsmiths alumni Diego Torres-Cantú on drums, she creates a dynamic sonic experience.

FAM serves as a celebration of spontaneity, femininity, and the beauty of living in the moment.
