The production model brings the guitarist’s custom Revstar design to a wider audience, with a revised neck heel, five-way switching and DiMarzio pickups.

Yamaha has released the Matteo Mancuso Signature Revstar RS20MM, a production electric guitar developed from the custom instrument Mancuso uses onstage and in the studio.

The design focuses on the details that shape how the guitar responds to his fingerstyle playing. It uses the same DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary pickups as his custom Revstar, alongside a five-way switching system and push-pull Focus Switch for different tonal settings. A chambered body reduces weight, while a carbon-reinforced neck adds stability. Yamaha also refined the neck heel at Mancuso’s request to improve access to the upper frets.

Mancuso said:

This signature model is an evolution of the custom Yamaha Revstar I’ve relied on for years, both onstage and in the studio. From the very beginning, the goal was to create an instrument that delivers the versatility, dynamic response and articulation my playing demands.

Mancuso has played Revstar guitars since 2017 and became a Yamaha artist in 2019. Finished in Vintage Sunburst with a flame-maple top and gold hardware, the RS20MM is available through authorised Yamaha dealers. Yamaha lists the US price at $1,599.99.

The test for a signature guitar is whether a player’s specific requests make sense in someone else’s hands. With the RS20MM, Yamaha has put those choices into a model guitarists can try for themselves.
