Scottish five-piece Vigo Thieves present ‘Heartbeats’ (out now via Hijacked Records), their debut album packed with undeniably feel-good rock tunes.
Hi Vigo Thieves! How are you doing today?
Can you tell us a bit about how you met?
Stevie Barry and myself have been friends from child hood and Al is Stevie’s youngest brother. Chris was recruited in 2012 after our songs developed more piano and synth parts and as were recording in his studio he was a natural fit
What’s your album ‘Heartbeats’ all about?
Its about living for the moment, reaching for the stars and believing in yourself.
Who would you say are your biggest influences on the album?
The Killers, U2, Bruce Springsteen, New Order, Fourteeners
If you could collaborate with any artist – dead or alive – who would it be?
Bruce Springsteen would be a dream come true, Brandon Flowers too.
Where has been the weirdest place you’ve been asked to perform live?
In front of 60,000 people at the Scotland England game last year
What can we expect from Vigo Thieves in 2017?
Maybe some new releases. Either 4 single stand alone tracks or one EP
Any gigs coming up?
Not at the minute. We’ve toured pretty incessantly over the last 3 years so taking a bit of a break
