Unfamiliar Things, an LA-based band, are starting off the new year with a fresh indie-rock release called Most People. The exquisitely crafted track was recorded in various places like Matt’s bedroom, a cabin in Big Bear and even Robby Krieger’s (founding member of The Doors) studio – talk about amazing!
Matt Levy’s distinctive vocals can be soothing in the band’s stripped-down acoustic tracks, yet remain powerful when accompanied by a full band.
This playful track is a delightful mix of creative melody and poetic lyrics, giving it an almost dreamy quality. It also has subtle touches of Death Cab For Cutie and Vampire Weekend. Not only does it radiate energy and warmth, Most People is also an earnest & introspective look into oneself.
When asked what motivated him to create the song, Matt said: “I haven’t heard many whimsical melodies and upbeat songs about being lost and finding your path. ‘Most People’ fills that void.”
Following their two acoustic releases in autumn 2022, Most People is here to lead us into the band’s full debut LP that’s expected to drop in spring 2023.
