Brooklyn-based duo Tropic is back in the limelight with their newest single, Wanna Know, a track that showcases their signature brand old-school charm and contemporary innovation. Taken from their upcoming EP, this sultry jam leans into vulnerability and raw emotion to irresistible effect.

Wanna Know is a sentimental bare-all of queer romance, delving into the complexities of excitement, yearning, and insecurity that often occur alongside new love’s blossoming. With soul-stirring melodies, velvety vocals and candid lyrics, Tropic invites listeners to embrace a universal desire for reassurance and connection.

“Will you be there in the morning? Will you be there when I wake up? I just wanna know.”

Jo-B Sebastian, the singer/songwriter half of Tropic, opens up about the song’s meaning, saying, “It reflects the rollercoaster of emotions we experience when falling for someone new, the vulnerability and naiveté of being young, queer, and in love. We wanted to capture that raw honesty and pay homage to the soulful soundscapes of the 2000s, the era that taught us all about love before we experienced it for ourselves.”

Tropic’s allure isn’t solely rooted in nostalgia though: their sound is a delicately rendered blend of old and new that draws inspiration from both to create something that’s timeless and fresh at the same time.

Tropic’s intoxicating EP, Wildest Dreams, was remarkably well received, with the lead single landing on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in 10 countries. Their most streamed song to date, Alive have earned their place on several Spotify editorial playlists, amassing over 2 million streams so far. Outside of Spotify, Tropic’s impact has been felt across the globe.

Their single Control was handpicked by Kitsuné’s Pat Lok for his House of Jade mix for 88Rising, alongside notable artists like Tokimonsta & Robotaki. Their performance on MYX TRAKS Live for MYX, the Philippines’ biggest music channel, further solidified their global appeal, reaching an audience of 1.4 million subscribers.

Look out for upcoming tour dates as the unstoppable Tropic continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
