But with the fourth and final single to come before ‘Dad Jams’ before its release on 28th May, the band have saved their best till last. Boogie Woogie is a shapeshifting electro nerd-pop banger that builds around a restrained synth groove that surprises and delights in the sort of way bands like Foster The People and The Temper Trap combine sensitive emotive themes in a tightly packed indie formula. It’s a real ice-dream pop smaller that is both heartfelt and energetic.
On Boogie Woogie, Dee Kesler from the band said, “This might be my favorite track on DAD JAMS. It toes the line between the cynicism and fatigue you experience in the middle of your life, and the hard-won, solid lessons you learn: the ones that prop you up and stand in for wisdom.”
