The Wanted will be dropped in a remote location with just £20 in their pockets and a BlackBerry smartphone to find their way to a gig hundreds of miles away, as their Live and Lost with BlackBerry tour kicks off this week.
The Wanted join Example and Professor Green by signing-up for what is set to be one of their most unusual adventures to date.
Using their BlackBerry smartphones and apps such as BBM, Facebook and Twitter, the group will rely almost entirely on the generosity and ingenuity of their fans to help them make their way across the country.
In return for their goodwill and kind gestures, fans will be rewarded with impromptu gigs played out anywhere from living rooms, high streets and village greens along the way.
The band will divide into two teams in order to make their way from Dover up to their final gig in Leeds with the results being shown on T4 this Sunday 21st November.
Example was the first to complete the Live and Lost with BlackBerry Tour earlier in the month by making his way from Mount Snowdon to a final gig in Southend with the help of his fans.
The star also received a breakfast courtesy of TV Presenter Rick Edwards and a lift from former Premiership football star Dion Dublin!
Professor Green will be the last participant on the tour at the end of November, which will see him making his way from outside of Glasgow to a gig in the south of England to perform for his fans.
Live and Lost with BlackBerry is the UK’s biggest and fullest interactive music experience, with fans able to set their favourite artists challenges they must complete to help them make it to their respective gigs.
Photos and videos from the challenges will also be shared on Facebook and YouTube which can be accessed via the BlackBerry Facebook fan page www.Facebook.com/BlackBerryUK and Blackberry.com/liveandlost.
Content is updated throughout each tour via daily online episodes on BlackBerry UK’s Facebook page and a weekly programme on Channel 4’s T4 show each Sunday, produced by Pulse Films – so fans will get a chance to be a part of the experience from start to finish.
Fans should also keep an eye on the artists twitter feeds over the next few weeks to find out if there are any ways they can help their favourite stars complete their tour.
