The Slates, an indie rock band from Yorkshire, are poised to make a splash with their new empowering anthem called, What Have You Done?.

The Slates is a group of four friends who enjoy making music together. You’ve got Louis Barnes on vocals, Joe Briggs shredding the guitar, Jude Wales holding down the bass, and Zak Oldroyd keeping the beat on drums. Writing killer songs and having everyone in the crowd moving and grooving is their goal!

The main themes of this new indie rock jewel are personal growth, going forward from past relations and contemplating how they have influenced your identity.

The Slates provided their thoughts on their track: “We feel like this song is a huge message to so many people, and we want to share this song with as many people as we possibly can. Finding yourself and being yourself is so important to everyone and everything, and as a band, we feel like we’re constantly evolving to be better people and to write bigger messages in our songs.”

The band really caught everyone’s attention when they dropped their EP u wot? towards the end of 2022. The catchy summer tunes like Hello, Don’t You Know? and Shield Your Drink were extremely appealing.

These guys know how to put on a show! They have performed at amazing locations in Yorkshire and beyond, leaving the crowd begging for an encore.

The Slates totally rocked their first headline show in Leeds back in September 2022 – it was a total sell-out! Now, they’re gearing up for an even bigger gig at The Key Club later this year.

With airplay on BBC, mind-blowing gigs at top-notch venues like O2 Academy, and epic slots at YNOT Festival 2022 and Isle Of Wight Festival 2023, this band is definitely one to watch.

The Slates will lead you on a journey of self-discovery, authenticity, and incredible tunes.
