Denver’s The Outfit, share their excellent new track ‘Caesar’, taken from ‘Tough Kids’ EP, due out on August 23.
The Outfit’s Eric Johnston explains: “As a band I feel we are all attracted to the raw and the direct. Inspired by everything from T Rex to The Hives, I enjoy listening to music that feels like it was created in a dirty place.
I think you can find a lot of inspiration in an old garage or a musty house. Of course inspiration isn’t limited to these kinds of places, it just seems to help.
When writing lyrics it hits me in waves. I feel that a lot of the lyrics on Tough Kids came from disappointment. I feel betrayal plays a huge part in songs like ‘El Presidente’ and ‘Caesar’.”
Alongside prominent tour dates, the band will also be playing alongside The Lumineers on September 15, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
The Outfit are Eric Johnston, RJ Powers IV, Mike King, and Mikael Kilates.
