USA Indie-Rockers THE JACKS share a new offering from the anticipated album. The track is called Mess I’m In and it’s a perfect way to get us hyped up for their album.
This time the band independently self-produced the record themselves which is an addictively catchy piece of anthemic rock, filled with drama and delicious melody.
Front man Jonny Stanback explains all: “This song is about the end of a relationship, centralized around my experience of coming back to California”, explains Jonny. “The duality of a breakup is a motif throughout the song. The “mess I’m in” describes this duality, where there is simultaneously relief, freedom, and possibility, as well as isolation, loneliness, and longing. The fun beat and melodies highlight the positive side, and the somber lyrical tone highlights the negative side.”
Catch THE JACKS live at The Fonda Theatre on Friday 22nd October for a special headline show.
