Songstress Coco Benson and super-producer Shizzi have teamed up to release a new single entitled Majesty. They wrote the single together with Parker Ighile and created this infectious summer-ready afrohouse track which is a comeback single for Coco Benson and serves as an announcement for her debut EP, Here We Go Again.
Shizzi has provided the lush afrohouse musical backdrop, making Majesty a superb return for Coco Benson but also a perfect dancefloor filler as well as a soundtrack for the upcoming summer and festival season.
For the royal-themed video that is accompanying the single, Coco chose to collaborate with visual director Mikey Johnson, creative director Ganyo Bi Dindin as well as choreographer Nela. It brings the single further to life, let us see the majesty of women and highlight how they would be treated like queens.
Coco Benson explained about her single; “Women do it all, women are the backbone to a lot of great things, and this track pays homage to women and speaks to empowering women. I wanted to create a song that every woman or girl could relate to, we are all ‘Majesty’ to someone, and it’s something to embrace.”
The songstress is the granddaughter of Nigerian highlife legend Bobby Benson, she first appeared on the African Music scene in 2014 with some hit singles including the one “They Call Me Coco” as well as a modern reworking of one of her grandfather’s breakground hit entitled “Taxi Driver” which put her on the list as a talent to watch across Africa.
Stepping away from music in 2015 to take care of her family she is now ready to return to make her way to the center stage with her upcoming EP, Here We Go Again, that has been executive produced by Shizzi.
