GREASE Is The Word winner Susan McFadden has hired a personal trainer to fit into Sandy’s famous spandex outfit in the hit West End musical.
The Irish singer and actress admitted she was terrified about wearing Sandy’s skin tight costume in the final scene of Grease and has dropped a dress size since hitting the gym with her trainer Serbo.
The 25-year-old said: “There were mornings where I’d wake up and all I’d want was another hour or so in bed.
“But I knew that Serbo was waiting for me at the gym and I couldn’t let him down.
“We worked out with a lot of weights, which is the best way to burn fat. I’d be there going: ‘I can’t do it, I can’t do it!’ And Serbo would tell me I could. I needed that encouragementâ€.
Susan, sister of former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, said she couldn’t have got in shape on her own.
“I’ve never pushed myself physically as hard as thisâ€, she added.
“It was a great luxury to have a personal trainer because Serbo pushed me further than I’d ever have pushed myself. When you go to the gym on your own you slip into a comfort zone and stop when you first feel pain. Now I keep goingâ€.
Susan can be seen playing Sandy along with Danny Bayne at the Piccadilly Theatre in London.
