Originally tracked in 2015 with Edgar McRae (Portugal. The Man), the session was ultimately shelved. Unconvinced, Superchurch stepped back.
Years later, with a recalibrated lineup and clearer intent, they reopened the archive — re-recording, tightening, and pairing those ideas with new material to build their forthcoming debut LP. Yarmouth Castle launches that chapter.
Lean but melodic, the single fuses historical narrative with muscular, hook-led alt-rock — tension without excess.
Derek Vaslev (vocals/guitar), Trask Schulte (drums/harmonies), and Stan Keightley Jr. (bass/harmonies/production) operate between Portland, Astoria, and Salem, cutting the track at Keightley’s studio.
Controlled and story-driven, Yarmouth Castle positions Superchurch as architects of pressure — shaping catastrophe into disciplined, cinematic rock.
