The good people at Take Five – the straight-forward & impartial advice to help everyone protect themselves from preventable financial fraud – teamed up with comedian, novelist and television presenter David Baddiel, for their new campaign video, a twisted take on Rapunzel fairytale, called ‘Once upon a time there was a scam’…”If only Rapunzel had taken a moment to stop and think”.
The clever campaign warns about disclosing sensitive information to unknown sources online, warning people about the dangers of clicking on suspicious links in emails.David Baddiel explains: “Having had a number of friends and family who have been duped by fraudsters, I decided to get involved in the Take Five campaign. Hopefully, these videos are a fun way of raising awareness of a serious issue. It’s no fairy tale being scammed.” Stop And Think:
Never disclose security details, such as your PIN or full banking password.
Don’t assume an email, text or phone call is authentic.
Don’t be rushed – a genuine organisation won’t mind waiting.
Listen to your instincts – you know if something doesn’t feel right.
Stay in control – don’t panic and make a decision you’ll regret.
