Steve Stinson continues the rollout of debut album Cocoon with Fly Away, an Americana-leaning single shaped by movement, uncertainty and the way travel can quietly rewrite identity.
Raised between the US and Australia and now based in Papua New Guinea, Stinson draws on his family’s move to Perth and a life shaped by travel.
Warm folk, blues and Americana textures support a story less concerned with reaching a destination than understanding what changes along the way. Stinson says:
Fly Away is a reminder that every journey changes you. It’s about discovering that home isn’t always a place. Sometimes it’s the person you become along the way.
As the third single from Cocoon, Fly Away frames growth as something built through movement, new experiences and the courage to keep going.
Fly Away lands in that space between departure and belonging. Where there is no clear roadmap, but standing still no longer feels like an option.
