Starita, a versatile artist, songwriter, and producer, has embarked on a remarkable musical journey, collaborating with legends like A Tribe Called Quest and forming alliances with Los Amigos Invisibles and Michael Franti and Spearhead. His unique ability to seamlessly blend electronic and acoustic elements has consistently captivated global audiences, pushing the boundaries of genres and leading listeners into a realm of profound spiritual introspection.

At the forefront of Starita‘s sonic exploration is his eagerly awaited second album, Remember. The debut single, Holding Pattern, released by Be Still Records, a division of Starita Music, introduces a hypnotic afro house experience, a late-night club track that explores the intricacies of conditioned thought patterns and the liberation that accompanies breaking free.

Starita elaborates, stating, “The album is a sonic journey, ranging from dance tracks like ‘Holding Pattern’ to ambient compositions with lush thematic vocals featuring several amazing vocalists.”

The album, inspired by J. Krishnamurti’s talks from 1977, delves into the theme of death, not in the physical sense but as an ego death. Starita explains, “The album is quite a ride sonically; ranging from dance tracks like ‘Holding Pattern’ to compositional ambient pieces with lush thematic vocals featuring several amazing vocalists.”

‘Remember’ takes listeners on a sonic rollercoaster, encompassing dance tracks like ‘Holding Pattern’ to ambient compositions featuring ethereal vocals from talented collaborators. It’s a thematic continuation from Starita‘s previous work, The Wake Up Call, an avant-garde exploration of the human experience from childhood innocence to the complexities of adulthood, ultimately leading to awareness, acceptance, and spiritual awakening.

Holding Pattern stands out on Remember, not only for its hypnotic beats but also for the unique creative process behind its conception. Starita shares his artistic method, using mediums like tape and analog instruments alongside electronic elements, resulting in a live creation, channeled in the moment, with each layer added organically.

To finalize Holding Pattern, Starita enlisted the expertise of house music legend Jay-J. Known for his mastery as a mix and mastering engineer, Jay-J’s touch elevated the track to new heights. The collaboration birthed Holding Pattern (Jay-J’s Shifted Up Edit), a Afro-tech house, club-friendly version seamlessly aligning with dancefloor sensibilities.

The collaboration between Starita and Jay-J is a testament to their shared vision and commitment to pushing the boundaries of music.

Remember is a cathartic journey where music happens through Starita rather than from him.
