Sophie Ellis-Bextor, the celebrated dancefloor diva, has captivated the UK once again with an electrifying resurgence of her classic hit, Murder on the Dancefloor, impressively soaring back to the #2 spot.  Teaming up with PNAU, known for their vibrant electro house style and notable remixes, they’ve injected new life into this classic, merging her captivating vocals with their dynamic beats.

This revival, boosted by its inclusion in Emerald Fennell’s film Saltburn, has not only brought the song back into the spotlight, with over 140 million streams in 2024 and a debut in the US Billboard Top 100 but also highlighted its lasting appeal and cultural significance.

The legendary music video, now available in stunning 4K quality for the first time, features Sophie engaging in clever tactics to outmaneuver her competitors in a dance contest. Directed by Sophie Muller, this was among their initial collaborations, laying the foundation for a lasting professional partnership that persists to this day.

Commemorating its initial success 22 years ago and its iconic video, Ellis-Bextor is set to release a special edition on vinyl and CD, along with a 7-track EP featuring remixes and the original hit, now available for streaming. As she prepares to perform at the BAFTAs, Murder on the Dancefloor proves its timeless charm, resonating with audiences old and new.
