Queensland multi-instrumentalist Shumo AG links with Indonesian hitmakers Batas Senja on Iron Veins, a bilingual indie-pop / melodic rock single shaped by cross-cultural momentum.

At 14, Shumo is balancing high school with a fast-moving career, multiple awards, major live crowds, and 650,000+ social followers.

Written by Shumo, Iron Veins pairs his English vocal and guitar-led writing with Indonesian lyrics from Batas Senja, bringing serious reach through the band’s 9.5 million monthly Spotify listeners while preserving his original emotional core.

Speaking on the collaboration, Shumo shares:

The connection with Batas Senja came about because my music started reaching listeners in Indonesia, and that was already very special for me. My online audience became really strong there, and a lot of people in the community started suggesting that Batas Senja and I should connect or work together.

He adds:

What I like most is that ‘Iron Veins’ became a bridge between two musical worlds. Through this collaboration, the song grew beyond its original form and became something that connects Australia and Indonesia through music.

Musically, Iron Veins moves between indie-pop, pop rock, and melodic ballad territory, building from vulnerability into a soaring crescendo. Its central image, emotional armour, explores what happens when strength becomes a shield from connection.

With a Jakarta performance alongside Batas Senja expected later this year, Iron Veins pushes Shumo AG beyond the usual “young artist” frame; turning Australia, Indonesia, bilingual songwriting, and big-stage ambition into one release.
