SEXY songstress Katie Melua clinched the top spot in the European charts last week.

The singer recruited superstar songwriter Guy Chambers in to help write and produce her latest album The House and it’s worked.
Katie, originally from Georgia, grew up in Belfast shot to fame after being discovered by music producer Mike Batt.

Now after three highly acclaimed albums Call Off The Search, Piece By Piece and Pictures Katie is back with a sexier, sassier and more grown up sound all thanks to music mogul Chambers.

Recently Katie described making her new album The House as “orgasmic” and added that working with Chambers was “an amazing experience”.

She added: “One of the most incredible things that I loved about working with him was he’s so easy about the process of writing. He doesn’t deliberate over it too much.

“Sometimes when I write on my own I can get really bogged down with it.

“But he just writes. It’s so simple. The process is simple and I found myself writing easily then.”

The House is Katie’s fourth studio album and it entered the Billboard pan-European album chart at number 1 knocking Iron Man 2 by

AC/DC down to 3 with the Rolling Stones Exile On Main Street remaining at number 2. Katie’s recent single The Flood charted in the UK in the Top 40 and has been slowly climbing ever since.

It will now be followed with the second single from the album A Happy Place which will be released in July.

It is believed Katie could be making a return to Ireland and Northern Ireland early next year as her UK tour begins in December.
