Widely acclaimed UK afropop artist Sean Dampte has unveiled his highly anticipated single Pepe (Remix) featuring fellow UK-based afrofusion artist Nizzy and rising Nigerian star Buju. The dynamic trio’s recent release is one that demands to be heard with an upbeat rhythm and captivating vocals.
The notable global collaboration has only instilled Sean, Nizzy, and Buju’s reign in the afrobeat realm, with the artists jointly sharing over 25 million streams on Spotify and attention from Complex, BBC 1Xtra, MTV, and BET. While Sean has individually received likes from MTV Base, BET, TRACE, and Apple Music, he is thankful for the collaboration and accredits the Buju and Nizzy for their successful release.

His latter hit releases include singles’ Alignments’, ‘You Can Call Me’, and ‘Energy.’ It is no surprise that he has amassed over four million streams. Sean’s projection as a musician is on the rise. The ‘Pepe (Remix)’ inaugurates Sean’s third full-length project, which will be released later in the month.
Sean describes his inspiration for the single “sometimes I find it difficult to fully express myself without my mother tongue, which is Yoruba. ‘Pe’ is the Yoruba word for complete, and ‘pepper’ is Nigerian street slang for money, so the song title ‘Pepe’ is short for expressing that ‘Pepper pe.’ Essentially, the song is me letting my woman know that I’ve got whatever it takes to give her whatever she wants because my money is complete….”
