Following the release of last year’s sophomore album, Salt Ashes reveals a new music video of the focus track, Body Says, as well as a remix by Romanian DJ Manuel Riva, transforming the pop track into a club-ready electronic banger.

While the remix features a thumping beat and Giorgio Moroder-inspired synths, the eye-popping video features a choreographed performance piece that wouldn’t look out of place in a Tarantino film. A hard-hitting stance on owning your own choices, Body Says seeks to understand the struggles women face every time they leave the house.

Speaking of the video, Salt Ashes said: “Working with Kassandra Powell on this video was such a ride. We have a shared love for all things Tarantino, David Lynch, and Stanley Kubrick and I’ve been a big fan of her work for a while now so I thought we’d create something great together.”

On the remix, Salt Ashes said: “It’s so great to be working with Manuel Riva again after 5 or so years. I love how Manuel has slowed ‘Body Says’ down yet instilled so much energy into it that it makes you want to dance hard. It’s a vibe.”

Having toured with pop and dance artists like Tove Styrke, Bright Light Bright Light, and Tiffany, the Brighton-born singer gained worldwide popularity with a string of singles, attracting the attention of tastemakers from The Guardian, Billboard, and MTV. With the video bringing a high-octane push and pull visual to elevate the song, Salt Ashes is ready to break into a wider audience.
