"It's about becoming, belonging, and about looking back and forward at the same time. Sometimes it is a place you have to go to, and sometimes it's talking to someone that knows you well."

Debuting with soft acoustic sounds on her new single, tell me about it, Norwegian singer-songwriter thea wang is compiling a series of heart-on-sleeve dream-pop tracks for her first album later this summer.

Rising up through Oslo’s Academy of Music, thea wang’s sound takes wistfully layered Joni Mitchell and Regina Spektor flavored vocals, and sets them to a modern take on the folk-pop sound. tell me about it is driven by the immediately emotional acoustic fingerpicking, before thea weaves a tale about loneliness and isolation in her intensely personal songwriting.

Talking about the new song, thea says: “‘Tell Me About It’ is about growing up and letting go. It is about those times when you’re not sure of who you are anymore, and you need someone or something to help you remember. It’s about becoming, belonging, and about looking back and forward at the same time. Sometimes it is a place you have to go to, and sometimes it’s talking to someone that knows you well. Carrying all the “ages” you’ve been inside.”
