The London-based quartet, formed in 2018 as Modra Luna and now renamed Quiet Tongues, has released their highly anticipated third single, She’s Velvet.
The band is still collaborating with producer Andy Nichol, and they’re keeping up the momentum with their signature blend of loud and intricate sounds. The new catchy and bold tune, She’s Velvet, is their latest single before their forthcoming debut EP.
But the crying keeps for weeks
Claps of thunder boom around
My room is lit by her
Walls throb they pulse in time
Strobe lights flitting flights and folds
She is mine we’re off the mend
Together around the bends
Fantasy comes
What will be become?
She’s Velvet
Here we’re talking about fierce, intricate rhythms, mind-blowing guitar solos, catchy melodies and beautifully abstract lyrics that will hit you right in the feels.
They’re all about taking the coolest elements from indie and alternative rock over the past few decades and spinning them into something totally fresh and exciting.
Quiet Tongues have clearly taken inspiration from a range of awesome artists like Queens of The Stone Age, Tame Impala, Massive Attack, and Talking Heads.
Back in 2018, this awesome group called Modra Luna came together and started rocking the London music scene. They played at cool spots like Oslo Hackney, The Finsbury, Notting Hill Arts Club, and Nambucca.
During the unexpected break in 2020, the band saw an opportunity to shake things up and give themselves a fresh start. They came back as Quiet Tongues and dropped their first-ever single, Ennui, on June 17th, 2022. This Water Is Wet followed on September 23rd .
Quiet Tongues includes Seth Tonkin on guitar and lead vocals, Jack Ewins on guitar and backing vocals, Daniel Nunan holding it down on bass and backing vocals, and Domokos Wootsch killing it on the drums with some epic backing vocals as well.
Go ahead and keep an eye on this band in the coming year. They’re definitely worth following!
