Following the success of our last night in Belfast’s Spring and Airbrake, Suspect Promotions brings Hip Hop back to the venue on 23rd August with our friend, World scratching champion DJ Flip from Dublin and his long suffering touring companion Prozack Turner from legendary California hip hop crew Foreign Legion.
Prozack Turner Profile
Prozack Turner knows how quickly things can change. When DreamWorks Records signed the Bay area native in 2002, he seemed destined for success.
A generous advance and recording budget allowed him to bounce across the country to work with Pete Rock, Organized Noize, J Dilla, and the Alchemist. The production Dream Team helped Prozack craft Death, Taxes and Prozack, the album he thought would make him a star.
Prozack’s star suddenly dimmed when DreamWorks pulled an EPMD and put up an Out of Business†sign in 2003. The label was sold to Universal Music Group, who declined to release Prozack’s album, leaving him broke and unemployed.
Zack recovered to release his first solo album Bangathon on independent label Hungerstrike Records in 2006.The energy on “Bangathon!” is fierce and infectious.
Producing two of the musical compositions himself, and working with producers such as Jake One (De La Soul, G-Unit, MF DOOM), OH NO (Stones Throw Records), and Paul Nice (Beastie Boys, Biz Markie, Masta Ace), Prozack laces the tracks with lyrics of pain, passion and humor, story telling and songwriting.
The album was recorded in Zack’s place of descent, Ireland and he has been touring the world ever since with our own DJ Flip.

DJ Flip Profile
DJ Flip from Dublin first came to prominence when he appeared from nowhere to win the ITF World Scratching championship in 2003/04 a title previously held by DJ Craze of the Allies and Prime Cuts of the Scratch Perverts.
Flip has been touring the world ever since and has managed to hook up with some of his idols to record and tour the world with. These include recording an album and touring with Canada’s Buck 65 and shows and releases with Mark Stretch and Prozack Turner from California crew Foreign Legion. As well as DJing for Prozack on the night Flip is sure to treat us to some of his exceptional scratch routines.
