Positively oozing with charm and sophisticated stylings, Shawn Emanuel’s new sultry R&B ballad, Messed Up, is a truly captivating listen. Fuelled by intense emotions that effortlessly translate into not only the lyrical content but the very heart of the instrumentation also, Messed Up is a relatable and introspective listening experience.
“Messed Up is based on a moment of realization, when you’ve been pushed to the edge, you’ve had enough and you decide to put yourself first. I remember humming the melody on the way home from work and killed myself to quickly get home and lay it down. Then I had to work out how to get live horns and guitar on the track…I had a lot of fun creating this record, I hope people enjoy it as much as I do”
With a knack for expertly capturing the emotions of a very specific moment in a relationship that everyone has experienced in their lives, Shawn Emanuel is a multi-talented musician, songwriter and visual artist that hails from a musical family.
