Sultry Gabriella Cilmi was in Italy (Rome, Milan and Treviso) to promote her amazing album ‘The Sting’. Just before her powerful and classy performance at the Circolo Degli Artisti in Rome, Gabriella revealed…
“The Sting was born as the result of negativity and experiences I went through for the last 3 years…A bit of a sting…Finding the beauty in negativity. I wanted it to sound the way Italian neo-realist photographs look, that post-war, ruined glamour which is really gritty and heart-breaking.”
On what’s she is listening to at the moment: “I have Jeff Bukley in the car, I love Neneh Cherry’s new album ‘Blank Project’ and after seeing a documentary on The Byrds im now rediscovered them…so a mix of new and old”On the books she is reading…”The Death Note manga series…Im on volume 5 and 6…Its so addictive…”
On her ultimate dream…”I would like to organize a Johnny Cash tribute at Madison Square Garden”
