This autumn, London raises its last stein at Mercato Metropolitano. After eight years of redefining Bavarian beer culture in the capital, German Kraft Brewery is throwing its final Oktoberfest at Elephant & Castle — one last, unfiltered farewell before the taps run dry.
Since 2017, German Kraft has killed the clichés — brewing onsite under the 1516 Purity Law, pouring tank-to-glass Franconian Helles, crisp Pils, cloudy Zwickel, and seasonal specials. Fresh, alive, and miles from the corporate lager rinse.
What started as an idea inside Mercato has become a London ritual: long tables, oompah bands flipping into late-night DJs, steins clashing between couples, families, and full crews of diehards. No tickets, no velvet rope — just community, chaos, and litres of beer. And this year, Kraft brings friends: guest pours from Vocation, Pillars, Sambrook’s, Riegele, Lost & Grounded, Ansbach & Hobday, Hackney Church, Siren, and Mondo — all flexing their own spins on German styles.
