Desert rockers OH BROTHER have recently shared their latest single Hopeless Romantic, and it’s impressive mix of chunky guitars and irreverent lyrics should please the ears of Royal Blood and Queens Of The Stone Age fans we reckon. The London based four piece are fronted by singer/songwriter Jake Leslau and lead guitarist Luke Cave and their sound is sparked by bluesy sounding guitars coupled with some really fun cinematic inspired lyrics and motifs.

With this release and follow up singles this year, they aim explore a more production-heavy guitar driven sound, boosted by working with famed producer Ian Davenport (credits include Demob Happy and Band of Skulls) who has brought a wealth of experience and extra boost to the band in the studio. The result of these sessions is a bolder, more barnstorming’ sound that captures the band’s live set.

To accompany the single, OH BROTHER have dropped this 50s inspired lyric video which kinda captures the romantic thread of the track, which is loosely based around being a dreamer in love, as Jake explains: “I wanted to tackle that age-old problem whereby we manage to convince ourselves everything’s all gravy and we’ve got in the bag – where in reality, you’ve missed the mark by quite some bit”

In 2019 they took the stage at The Great Escape before playing All Points East in the summer and their first sold out headline show in London later in the year. Their self-produced debut What’s The Point was added to Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and the music video has been viewed over 1M times on Facebook. The band went on to record their subsequent EP entitled Catastrophe’ with producer Neil Comber (known for his work with MIA, Goldfrapp and Placebo).

As they near the end of a mini UK tour in March we’ve been told to expect a music video for Hopeless Romantic dropping soon.
