Acts appearing this week include
NIK COPPIN
His confident, affable and energetic style of comedy is quick to build audience rapport, as he talks about subjects as wide-ranging as observations on human nature, his experiences in the Antipodes, his extensive knowledge of wildlife, current affairs and his mixed race up bringing. He has the ability to adapt to a multitude of audiences and is skilful enough to swiftly win them over.
DOUGIE DUNLOP
Highly talented observational comic, Dougie Dunlop, has the hardest of his audiences sharing his unique take on life. A comedy youngster, Edinburgh boy Dougie was headlining at the Café Royal at the Fringe within two years of starting his act. A star of Scottish TV and radio, Dougie has begun the invasion of the south with appearances on The Beat Room, Through the Night and Velvet Cabaret.
COLIN COLE
A familiar face to fans of good and bad (and there’s a lot of that) Australian TV, versatile comic/actor’s TV credits read like a “‘guide to Australian Television” including Hey Hey, the Max Gillies Show and Bingles. Already popular in the US, Canada and Hawaii, with his mix of sharp one-liners and cuddly, almost Koala-like persona, he now hopes to conquer Britain. Described by the New York Times as “One of the most exciting performers to come out of Australia since Skippy!” Enough said!
RUDI LICKWOOD
Rudi Lickwood is one of the busiest and most sought after acts on the UK comedy circuit. Rudi regularly headlines all the major comedy Clubs using his sense of humour and razor sharp material that appeals to all audiences. With a super confident playful personality and oozing charisma, his infectious charm has made him a desirable commodity for radio and television including warm-ups for the National Lottery Jetset and a documentary entitled ‘Banged up Stand up’. In recognition of this in 2004 Rudi received the prestigious honour of the BECA comedy award for outstanding contribution to comedy.
