Shapeshifter1NZ Shapeshifter release their brilliant album, ‘Delta’ in the UK, which has already reached number one in their native New Zealand.

By name and by nature, from depth charge bass music, elastic electronic textures and barrelling breakbeats to bedrocks of soul, jazz and rave that ground Shapeshifter’s experimentation. On the making video for ‘In Colour’ Video’ the band say: “Massive thanks to our brother Nick D for making this wonderfully human experience come alive.”

The band’s bass heritage and cutting edge underground sound (London’s Hospital Records licensed the opening track ‘Monarch’) are still present, while their music is moving forward into the future, live drums have mostly been eschewed for a backbone of digital rhythms that support everything from vintage analogue synths to horns and electric guitar. Shapeshifter2NZ Shapeshifter are: P Digsss (vocals), Devin Abrams (sax/keys/synths), Sam Trevethick (guitar/synths/sampler), Nick Robinson (bass/synths/MPC) and Darren Mathiassen (drums).
