Estonian eclectic alt-pop artist NOËP drops his new track Head Out of the Water and answers our QuickFire Questions

What was the first album you bought?

The first album I remember buying was “Good Man Down” by Ewert & the Two Dragons”

Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations and why?

They keep changing. There have been times when Disclosure, Flume, and Mura Masa f.e. have influenced my sound. But other times it’s Jose Gonzales, Arvo Pärt or Kid Cudi. It varies a lot.

What are some non-musical inspirations that motivate your music?

I’ve always been inspired by nature when it comes to emotions and my own experiences when it comes to stories. For the past several years it’s been difficult for me to write songs plainly about love or relationships. The effect we have on nature as humankind is always more or less prevalent in my music.

Tell us about your single ‘Head Out of the Water’?

Head Out Of The Water is essentially about the moment we realize we’ve taken something for granted and the fear of losing it. But also about love. Probably one of the most feel-good tracks I’ve written in years.

What have you got lined up for the rest of the year (2021)?

Well.. lots of new music for sure. Planning to release my debut album at the end of this year so stay tuned.
