Emotional and ethereal from the opening notes, Miller Roberts’ latest release Bad Habit will enchant its every listener. Opening up to her listeners, this unique newcomer bares her soul for all to see in this delicate and intimate insight into heartbreak. Sharing her thoughts on the track Roberts explained that Bad Habit was:

“Written after a breakup and during a period of lockdown and isolation, this song is a response to the loneliness felt in being misunderstood but, in turn, the fear and trepidation of feeling deeply seen and understood by another person. This production around this track is intentionally simple and stripped back in an attempt to capture the honest and raw sincerity behind the song. Writing this song was a way for me to acknowledge and address the emotionally disengaged nature of my personal life in an effort to learn and grow. I am still on this journey, but I know I am growing along the way.”

With a simple and elegant soundscape, consisting primarily of exquisitely executed keys, Miller Roberts’ vocals truly take center stage. The aching emotions contained within the track are almost palpable, with Roberts’ performance ebbing and flowing with the natural build in the instrumentation until reaching the completely captivating chorus.

Having the power to make a listener relate to a track is a powerful feat on its own, but being able to reproduce those very emotions in the listener upon hearing the track is something else entirely. And something that Roberts has achieved beautifully within Bad Habit.
