Meet LAURAN BETH: Pop, Retro, Vintage, Random and Fun…

Irish singer-songwriter Lauran Beth shines with her sparkling pop tune called, 11 Years, out now via Beardfire Music.

Hey Lauran Beth! How are you today?

Hi FM! I’m good. Thank you so much for having me.

Tell us a bit about your new single 11 Years.

11 Years is about climate change and how society has ignored the wellbeing of the planet. It speaks about the fears and anxieties I have around climate, whilst exposing those who do not care about plants or animals.

How is lockdown life treating you? Bored yet?

In the beginning I thought it would be a dreadful experience, but I have ended up enjoying lockdown and the strange way we have been living! Lockdown has given me time to focus on how I am feeling, and write more music that is coming from a really honest part of me.

Describe your sound in five words:

Pop, retro, vintage, random and fun…

You were born without your left hand but you haven’t let that stop you from following your dreams, which we think is incredible, do you have any advice for aspiring artists in a similar position?

One major life lesson I have learned is to not let people treat you any differently! Everyone is equal and face the same challenges in life, some people just have to do it in a different way. If narrow-minded people want to try and bring you down, it is a reflection on their insecurities, and it id 10 times more fun to prove them wrong.

Who are your biggest influences?

I listen to everything from Green Day and My Chemical Romance to 80s hits, so it’s hard to pick from so many amazing idols! However, my biggest inspirations and the people I look up to most would have to be Avril Lavigne, Melanie Martinez and The 1975.

Are there any emerging Irish artists you can recommend to us?

Everyone on the Beardfire label are so amazing and deserve so much recognition. Martin McDonnell, KTG, Zoe Clarke, Michael T, HappyBirthdayDaniel and Moylan are so incredibly talented.

What’s the first thing you’re gonna do when lock down is over?

Leave my village and go for a random drive somewhere haha. After a while you get extremely bored of seeing the same thing every day.

Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

As long as I am pursuing a career that I truly adore and am content in myself and my life, I’ll be perfect. I really just want to live life to the fullest, be confident and have no regrets, as cheesy as that sounds!

Where can we find you online?

My Instagram ( lauranbeth ) and my YouTube channel ( Lauran Beth ) are where I post my music and my life most frequently. My Spotify is ‘Lauran Beth’, where you can listesn to 11 Years

Any last words?

Thank you for having me, it was an enjoyable experience. I hope everyone is staying healthy and well in these strange times.
